Ways to Contribute

SunGarden relies on the generosity of our community to help maintain the high-quality program provided to families.  There are many ways that you can contribute to our school, through many different forms of giving.

Annual Art in the Yard Auction Event

Parents, along with community members and staff, support an annual community event to benefit the programs at SunGarden Montessori. This event highlights art and projects made by the children, which are sold in both a silent and live auction. Revenue generated from this event are used for the annually-identified goal; in the past for capital improvements, classroom materials, professional development and program enhancements.  As the single largest volunteer effort, we encourage parents to join us in making this a successful event. In-Kind Donations and Volunteerism

Our children have family and community members with wonderful hobbies, talents and occupational skills. We encourage parents, extended family members, and even local businesses to donate time and items that can help enhance our classrooms and outdoor space. These include your time, services, or goods gifted to the school. Over the past few years, donations have ranged from kitchen and craft supplies, to carpentry and computer services. Volunteer opportunities include support with advertising and marketing, hosting Parent Coffee gatherings, contributing to the monthly Staff Appreciation Potluck, serving on the Board of Directors, and assisting on-site with class or community activities. Our seasonal work parties allow parents to work alongside their children, modeling volunteerism to the next generation. Our Guides also prepare a “wish list” each year of items that would enhance their particular classroom environment, from mobiles to plant starts for the garden.
